TOP: Lakes named the number one place for a proposal in the UK
THE Lakes has been named as the number one destination for a proposal.
According to a study conducted by NerdWallet, 14 per cent of a 1,000 married couples said they were proposed to in the Lakes.
Cornwall was in second place followed by the Scottish highlands.
The study also revealed that the Lakes was named the second best place for a honeymoon in the UK according to 11 per cent of a 1,000 married couples.
The Highlands just reached the top spot at 12 per cent.
