NHS Dumfries & Galloway has recorded a marked decrease in coronavirus cases.
Yesterday a spokeswoman said there had been a total of 44 new cases in the week ending November 22.
The previous week there were 74.
The number of people who were advised to self-isolate also declined, down to 265 from 373.
The spokeswoman added: “People’s adherence to directions based on the region’s current level two status is being credited as having had a significant positive effect on the situation, with thanks extended for all the ongoing efforts and sacrifices.
“There is still a continuing high degree of risk as we approach the festive period."
About 3,276 tests were carried out in the week ending November 22 – down slightly on the 3,345 the week before.
