AN ANNUAL service of remembrance for families who have been affected by baby loss will be held online this year.

The service by the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) gives families the opportunity to reflect on their loss and remember all of the babies who have sadly died.

The service will be streamed via Zoom from the Royal Lancaster Infirmary chapel on November 29 at 3pm.

Rebecca Bleackley, Bereavement Midwife, UHMBT, said: “We’ve worked hard to be able to hold our baby loss remembrance service this year, despite the current restrictions on meeting face-to-face.

“Although the service will be slightly different, we hope that it will still provide some comfort to the women and families who are grieving the loss of a baby. It is a chance for people to recognise that they are not alone in their grief, and a way for us to support and give strength to those who might be struggling.”

Email the Trust’s Chaplains at deborah.wilde@mbht.nhs.uk or ian.dewar@mbht.nhs.uk to receive the link to join the service.

If you would like your baby’s name to be read out during the service, please complete the form on the UHMBT website at: www.uhmb.nhs.uk/news-and-events/events/baby-loss-remembrance-service
