THIS week’s winner of Bouquet of the Week has a ‘heart of gold’ and is described by her daughter as caring, putting others before for herself, and an all-round incredible person.

Elizabeth Ann Banks has been nominated by her daughter Nicola Banks.

She is 67 years old and has spent her life helping others and supporting her family through the hardest of times.

Born and raised in Dalton, Elizabeth lives on Napier Street, and worked for ten years as a cleaner in the Dalton surgery before retiring.

Nicola said: “My mum deserves this bouquet because she is always there when anybody need her, and she will go above and beyond to help them in these difficult days.

“My mum is special to me because she has always been there for me in my darkest times and supported me through them.

“She cared for her father in law a couple years ago who was going through a lot dementia and parkinsons, as well as acting as primary carer for her own parents.

“Overall a lovely mum. So lucky to have her and I think she deserves recognising for all she does.

"She's young at heart and celebrated her birthday on November 13.

Elizabeth has two grandchildren, Callum, 9, and Morgan, 17.

She married Keith Banks in 1975. The two recently celebrated their 45th year of marriage.

Nicola added: “When lockdown is over, we will be spending a lot more time together. My mum and dad like to go on days out and so they will be looking forward to that.

“We’ll be all together on Christmas hopefully.

“I just want her to know how much she means we us and how amazing she is. She’s an amazing mother and woman, we love her so much.”
