POLICE officers visited Grasmere School as part of national Road Safety Week.
Members of Cumbria's police and fire services visited South Lakeland schools last week to raise awareness of issues such as inappropriate parking and the dangers of crossing roads without care.
Officers were encouraging children to take safety precautions, such as ensuring they use appropriate crossing points.
Among the locations that saw an emergency service presence were Grasmere, Windermere and Kendal.
Jamie Coward, station manager at Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service, said: “From our point of view, if we can stop someone from having an accident, that lessens the impact on the NHS, that lessens the impact on our resources.”
