A MAN has denied assaulting a woman.

David Paul Sandham is alleged to have assaulted the woman causing actual bodily harm on November 17.

The 22-year denied the charge when he appeared before the bench at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court.

The defendant, of Titchfield Street in Barrow, was remanded on bail is due to stand trial.

He is due to appear at Preston Crown Court on December 18 ahead of the trial.

Mr Sandham, who was represented in court by duty solicitor Andrew Gallagher, will be kept under curfew his next court appearance.
