South Lakes pub set for its return

The Plough Inn, Lupton, will be open once again on Monday 7th December.

As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, the pub initially closed in March.

However, it has been unable to open since and now been closed for eight months.

In September, the pub was placed under new ownership.

Paul and Laura Bolton bought The Plough Inn.

The new owners already own of two award-winning pubs, West Tower in Ormskirk and The Windmill Hotel in Parbold.

Following a revamp to its premises, Operations Manager Ryan Salter revealed he is looking forward to the pub’s return.

Mr Salter said: “We can’t wait.

“We have been closed for a while now so we are really excited to open back up.

“We are opening hopefully on the 7th December and will be going straight into the festive side of things, so we are using this lockdown now to make everything festive in the pub.”

In preparation for their reopening the pub recruited experienced chef Darren Tate.

In addition to this, Mr Salter highlighted that there will be a new menu available at the pub, which is currently on the pub’s website.

Furthermore, there is now a freshness to the pub’s layout as a result of its revamp.

Despite this, Mr Saltner has reminded regular customers that The Plough Inn will retain its warm atmosphere.

Following a tough year, The Plough Inn is now hoping it can end 2020 in a positive manner.

Mr Saltner said: “It’s been a tough year.

“But, we are really excited with the new ownership.

“We were able to bring some of the staff back who were made redundant and we are really happy about that.

“We are ready to go now and hopefully these restrictions get lifted and we can come out the other end stronger than when we did when went in.”
