THE annual Scout Christmas Post Service in Dalton has been called off this year due to Coronavirus restrictions.
The service in Dalton and Newton is usually run by the 1st Duddon Scout Group who help deliver Christmas cards in the community each year.
A spokesman said: "We know some of you rely on us every year to deliver your cards.
"This is the first year any of us can remember that we have not run the Scout Christmas Post Service in Dalton and Newton.
"We plan to be back next year to deliver your cards.
"Thank you to all who have supported this fundraising event in the past."
