Children dealing with the loss of a parent can from today get support from the Covid-19 recovery fund.
Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Peter McCall, is launching the Time to Share Bereavement Services community group from the fund.
If a child needs help, there will be an eight-week after-school course funded to offer therapeutic bereavement support to children and families who have experienced loss.
Mr McCall has put his support behind the group as deaths from the pandemic are rising nationally.
He said: “The Community Covid-19 Recovery fund will help during the pandemic, so families can meet others who are living with similar bereavements."
Enquiries are welcome from interested families and schools on 07926 385262 between 9am and 3pm from Monday to Friday.
