A GROUP is trying to spread some Christmas cheer to elderly residents with their latest project.
Ulverston Self Isolation Group, which was set up in response to the pandemic, has decided to collect cards, postcards, pictures and letters for residents of local care homes to bring joy to those who may not receive visits this year.
Boxes for drop offs will be available at the following locations; Squirrel Shop, Town Council office, Croftlands Launderette, 42 Watery Lane, The Red House North Lonsdale Road and 31 Windsor Cresent, Croftlands.
Items can be dropped off between November 1 and December 10.
All items will be collected and quarantined by Ulverston Self Isolation Group and again by the participating care homes before being given to residents.
Members of the public may also donate small gifts such as chocolates, biscuits, soap and hand cream.
The group will also be sourcing suitable gifts from local traders.
