MAIL readers have given their opinion on South End Caravan Park on Walney bidding for a longer season to capitalise on the staycation boom.

Currently the Mulgrew family, who have operated the park successfully since 1976, can only open between Easter and November 14.

The application to Barrow Borough Council is for all year round use with 50 static and 30 touring caravans from its original 80 touring caravans.

Monica Stringer said: "Good luck. I hope to stay sometime if I can find one to let for a few days and when these restrictions are downgraded my favourite hotel is closing.

"Barrow council do the right thing and pass this."
