A RESCUE team was called out to help retrieve a wandering sheep who was stuck on the other side of a canal.
Ulverston Inshore Rescue had an unconventional call out after a farmer rang the crew needing some assistance.
A sheep had jumped into Ulverston Canal and swam to the opposite side where it was standing on a ledge.
The rescue team dispatched eight crew members to the incident where they used a rescue boat to retrieve the adventurous animal.
The team successfully retrieved the sheep from across the water and delivered it back home.
A spokesman for Ulverston Inshore Rescue said: “Not the usual callout.
“UIR were asked to help a local farm rescue one of their young sheep as one was stuck on a pipe outlet at Ulverston Canal.”
