A MAN has been given a suspended sentence for assaulting a woman.

Nathan Coburn Harrison appeared at Workington's magistrates' court charged with beating a woman by assaulting her.

He was also charged with damaged the woman's property - her bathroom door, as well as causing her actual bodily harm.

Harrison, 27, of Waver Lane, Wigton, pleaded guilty to all three charges.

For the charge of assault by beating by beating Harrison was sentenced to 18 weeks. For the charge of property damage he was given an eight week sentence.

For assault causing actual bodily harm he was given a 26 week sentence.

All sentences are concurrent and have been suspended for 18 months.

Harrison was also ordered to pay £128 to fund victim services, £85 costs and £630 compensation.

His guilty plea was taken into consideration when imposing the sentence.
