TWENTY-TWO new homes are to be built on Walney.
South Lakes Housing plans to create the new properties in Solway Drive North and say they will be a collection of high-quality family homes.
The site will include a mix of affordable homes available under shared ownership and to buy and rent.
The will be built by Barrow-based Leck Construction Ltd.
Andrew Murphy, construction director at Leck Construction, said: “We are delighted to be working with South Lakes Housing to design and deliver 22 houses affordable houses at the Solway Drive North site on Walney.
“We have been working closely with South Lakes Housing and have just completed the £2.1million, conversion of Ulverston Town Hall into 17 affordable apartments.”
This development is expected to be completed by July 2021.
The properties include four bungalows and 18 houses and are either semi-detached or link-detached, six of which will come with an attached garage.
There will be six homes available through Affordable Rent, two homes through Rent to Buy and 14 homes will be available for purchase via Shared Ownership. Funding has been provided by South Lakes Housing with additional affordable housing support from Homes England.
Mr Murphy said: “Leck Construction Ltd has have more than 80 years’ experience of constructing houses for private and public clients, and has built its reputation on providing quality design and build service, that uses local operatives. We are proud to have the A rating by the NHBC.”
