LIGHTING UP: Christmas lights in the town centre
THIS year's Christmas lights switch on event will be taking on a virtual twist in Barrow due to the pandemic.
Annual event organisers Denis Horan, Beth Horan and Michael Cassells have joined forces with Barrow Borough Council and performance venue The Forum to deliver a virtual Christmas spectacular.
The event will include a plethora of Barrow sourced talent who will be performing in the event that is scheduled for November 21.
The tradition of finding local 'switch on stars' will not be changed by adaptation of hosting the event virtually.
