FURNESS Labour members still hold concerns over the direction of the party under new leader Keir Starmer.

Mr Starmer recently completed six months at the head of the Labour Party, after storming to victory in a three-horse leadership race earlier this year.

Here, Mail readers deliver their verdict...

Tim Lewthwaite said: Seems like Starmer and co are doing a cracking job of holding this government of silver spoon delinquents to account. Just a shame he's not running the show otherwise we might have a hold on test and trace, he wouldn't be outsourcing private testing contracts to his unqualified mates like Johnson and Hancock do on a weekly basis.

Nehpets Sewoh said: Labour need to accept they are never getting anywhere near being elected whilst being controlled by momentum and its far left ideologies. They have enough influence to ensure that the centre is considered far right. The public have had enough of the liberal left being offended and saying what you can say or do and until they shift more central the landslide of the last election will only get worse

Paul Griffiths said: Choice of party leader should be secondary to choice of Govt. Labour Left attacking Labour right and vice versa will not achieve what should be a common goal of getting the Tories out.

Jim Rigby said: Typical anti-conservative rubbish. Under a Labour government there would be little difference in the outcome in such difficult circumstances. Just an opportunity to make party politics in national emergencies.

Charlie Dowthwaite said: Keir Starmer has sacked three of his Labour MPs for voting against a bill that protects British war criminals and it was also the first sign that his new love of the Union Jack which means defending Britain’s crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan. The present Labour leader has sacked Nadia Whittome, Beth Winter and Olivia Blake from their roles as junior shadow ministers after voting against the Overseas Operations Bill on Wednesday. The bill, tabled by the Tories, is designed to stop soldiers from being prosecuted for torture and killings in Iraq, Afghanistan and Northern Ireland. He deserves all the contempt he gets after the manner in which he treated Rebecca Long Bailey who is totally innocent and also Starmer doesn't even have a housing program to help homeless people, Corbyn did.
