I have read with interest the Government’s safety requirements for restaurant staff, and am amazed at the non-requirement, for waiting staff, to wear a mask.
Plated food carried, uncovered, to the table by a non-masked person means that on the journey from the kitchen that person is breathing over the food, and possibly coating it with the Covid virus.
These offending restaurants need to take heed as I suspect this issue is foremost in the minds of many of us older local customers who will be depended on this winter when the less discerning tourists have left the area. I would add that there are a few enlightened restaurants whose staff see the need to wear a face visor.
They have clearly thought through their safety regime, and have customers‘ safety as top priority, as well as doing their best to keep their establishments open, and Covid free, during this pandemic.
