A POPULAR music festival which was virtual for this year's event has raised nearly £6,000 for charity.

Music festival Fudstock was a huge success once again this year, creatively responding to the coronavirus crisis by moving the festival online.

The annual festival started in 2018 to commemorate the life of Barrovian Richard Thorne AKA Fud.

The festival helped raise £5,800 for St Mary's Hospice through this year's virtual celebrations.

A spokeswoman for the charity said: "We are grateful as always for your support."
