HERE is your weekly round-up of some of those who faced the South Cumbria Magistrates Court last week.

A WOMAN is set to appear before magistrates on Monday charged with assaulting two police officers at Furness railway station.

Ellie Sinead Robertson, 19, of Grasmere Avenue, Workington, will appear before South Cumbria Magistrates Court.

Ms Robertson is alleged to have assaulted police officers Sam Ellis and Oliver Braithwaite at Barrow Railway Station on July 25 this year.

She has been charged under the assaults on emergency workers offences act 2018. It is her first appearance in court for the offences, with the teenager yet to enter a plea.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of a man charged with driving without due care and attention and public order offences.

John William Lowery, 50, of Whitbeck, Millom, failed to turn up to South Cumbria Magistrates Court on Wednesday. He is accused of two due care and attention charges and three public order offences.

A MAN has appeared in court accused of threatening behaviour.

Ian James McSkimmings, of Aberdeen Street in Barrow, was charged with causing harassment, alarm or distress through threatening words of behaviour on January 14.

The 43-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge when he appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court.

He was fined £100 and told to pay a £32 victim surcharge and £85 cost.

A MAN is due to appear at a crown court after he was charged with using coercive and controlling behaviour and harassment.

It is alleged that Dale James Jakobowski committed the offences against Natasha Clark in Millom between January 16 and February 29.and March 1 2019 and January 18 respectively.

The 24-year-old, of Newbiggin Cottages in Millom, pleaded not guilty at South Cumbria Magistrates' Court.

He is due to appear before Preston Crown Court on October 2.

A MAN who admitted driving while under the influence of cocaine and cannabis has been made subject to a community order.

Gray Allan Ormandy, 30, of Ramsden Street, Barrow, appeared before South Cumbria Magistrates Court on Wednesday, where he admitted the charges.

The court heard he was stopped on April on Smeaton Street, where he was over the limit for both substances.

He was given a one year order, banned from driving two years, and ordered to pay £85 costs.

A trial date has been set for a man accused with using and possessing two fake £20 notes - as well as drug possession.

David Paul Sandham, 22, of James Street, Barrow, appeared in South Cumbria Magistrates Court on Wednesday, where he denied the charges.

He is accused of possessing a fake £20 on June 22 and July 1 in Barrow last year.

He is also accused of possessing cocaine on July 1.

Sandham denied the charges and he has elected a trial by jury. He will appear at Preston Crown Court on October 9.
