A COUPLE got married in a ‘magical’ intimate ceremony after a whirlwind romance.

Deanna Johnson, 23, a ward hostess and James Williams,38, who works in security, tied the knot at the Merewood Country House Hotel on August 21.

“The day was very magical,” said Mrs Williams.

“It was very relaxed and intimate, the day was really special.”

The Williams only had three people present at their nuptials, something which they greatly enjoyed.

“We were always going to have a just us wedding,” said Mrs Williams.

“It was something we thought we would much prefer to do anyway.

“We could spend the whole day just with each other.

“It was really nice getting up and getting ready, and then actually getting married, getting our pictures taken and eating really nice food and just laughing.

“We both said it was the best day of our lives.

“From the minute we woke up to the moment we went to bed it was a magical day.”

Despite it raining for most of the happy day, the pair still managed to enjoy the Merewood’s gorgeous grounds.

“It basically rained all day,” said Mrs Williams.

“We had a few spells where it wasn’t and we could get out and get some good photos.”

The couple found each other on an online dating site, with Mrs Williams admitting it took two tears for her to agree to meet her husband.

“It took two years for me to actually meet him,” said Mrs Williams.

“I drove up to his house in Maidstone and we went out for Nandos.

“I actually thought James was a catfish, because I thought he was so good looking.

“When we did meet he was very kind and sweet and caring and he was very good looking.

“I think he probably thought the same about me.”

Sparks flew and after two months together Mr Williams surprised his wife with a romantic proposal.

“I was going to his house and when I got there he was suited and booted,” said Mrs Williams.

“He’d cooked a romantic dinner and he had put candles all over the house and he put the fire on.

“After we had dinner we sat by the fire with a drink and then that’s when he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.”

Mrs Williams admitted it was a huge surprise.

“We’d not been together long at all, it was a really big surprise.”

The newlyweds, who are from Kent, are hoping to honeymoon in the Maldives in October.
