A SEVEN-year-old from Yorkshire has raised almost £100 for the Save Grange Lido cause - by hosting a tombola on his driveway.

Billy Bottomley, from Steeton, is becoming notorious in the Lido community for his fundraising efforts and has generated around £1,000 in total for the Grange project since becoming besotted with the site following a visit to the area in April 2019.

Billy’s mum Val Rodgers said while on holiday she really wanted to go and see the Grange Lido as her family have a history that intertwines with them.

“We went to look at it and Billy took a weird interest,” she said.

“He would want to watch the Lido on YouTube when we got home. One day on his way to school he said he wanted to swim there when he was 10, he was six at the time.”
