A MAN has appeared in court after he damaged placemats and a vase belonging to a woman.
Jason Nixon damaged the items, which belonged to Diane Hunter, on March 25.
Nixon, of Glens Terrace in Heads Nook, which is located east of Wetheral, appeared before Carlisle's magistrates' court on Friday.
He pleaded guilty to a charge of criminal damage.
The 50-year-old was given a 12-month conditional discharge by the court.
This means no further action will be taken unless Nixon commits a further offence in the next 12 months.
They are used in circumstances where the court decides given the character of the offender and the nature of the crime, the punishment would not be appropriate.
Nixon was ordered to pay a £22 surcharge to fund victim services.
He was also told to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
