A COASTGUARD rescue team was called out after war ordnance was discovered on a beach.
Millom Coastguard Rescue Team and Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team attended Eskmeals beach following an alert by a member of the public.
The incident involved an unusual amount of items which were cleared and disposed of by the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD).
Rescue teams are reminding the public to report anything which looks untoward or out of place to call 999 and inform the coastguard.
