ONE thousand pupils across Furness are set to receive a free stationery pack upon their transition into secondary school.
Year Seven pupils attending Walney School, Furness Academy, St Bernard’s High School, Dowdales and Ulverston Victoria High School this September will all receive a stationary pack to help them move to their secondary schools.
The scheme is being led by the Inspiring Barrow Kickstart programme, which delivers fun and engaging activities to young people across the area.
As Year Six children missed out on a lot of work in preparation to transition to secondary school due to Covid-19, the stationery packs will help pupils in their move.
The schools will receive draw string bags containing a pencil case, Pritt Stick, protractors, highlighter, purple and blue pens, rubbers, erasers and coloured pencils, as well as a pencil sharpener.
