A FUNDRAISING walk has been planned for those in Cumbria who have died from Coronavirus.

The group is planning a Daffodil Walk next March in memory of residents who have lost their lives to the virus.

The route is expected to be around 6.5 miles long, running through villages in the Eden Valley.

In the meantime, the group is looking for volunteers to help plant daffodils along the route during September and October.

Both today and tomorrow, the group will be holding an open garden session at Eden Valley locations, selling daffodil bulbs to help raise funds. Entry is five pounds for adults and free of charge for minors.

The open garden sessions will run from 12pm to 4pm at Hazel Cottage gardens and Coombe Eden gardens.

The group, which aims to raise £1,000 for its cause, has also set up a Just Giving donations page.

David Ryland is one of the fundraising group's organisers and independent Eden Valley councillor.

He said he hopes for a turnout of a couple of hundred.
