A CASUALTY was airlifted to hospital following an injury on the Corridor Route to Scafell Pike.
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team (WMRT) was called to the report of an ankle injury near Criscliffe Knotts at around 2.50pm on Wednesday.
A WMRT spokesman said, as a stretcher carry from the area is difficult and there was 'no clear information' about injuries or medical condition, a Coastguard helicopter was requested.
The casualty was flown to hospital in Carlisle for further treatment.
