VILLAGES and market towns areas are set to benefit from full fibre broadband within the next 18 months.
Openreach has outlined plans to make ultra-reliable and gigabit-capable full fibre broadband available to homes and businesses in and around eight towns and villages across Cumbria.
These include Barrow, Dalton, Walney, Millom, Kendal, Penrith, Harington and Workington.
Work is expected to get under way in these locations within the next 12 to 18 months, although some could see work continue until 2024.
