A FUNDRAISING page set up after an ‘inspiring’ grandmother lost her battle with cancer has raised more than one thousand pound in just days.
A Just Giving page, launched less than a week ago, has raised more than a £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support - the charity which cared for Edna Walmsley before she died.
A mum-of-three and beloved grandmother, Mrs Walmsley died after a four-year battle with breast cancer.
The 78-year-old was described as a ‘force to be reckoned with’ who was ‘competent right until the end’.
Mrs Walmsley was Cumbria co-ordinator for the Mother’s Union - a Christian charity that seeks to support families worldwide.
Her husband said the charity was ‘the main focus of her life’, especially after her diagnosis.
