BOSSES at Barrow Borough Council are reminding the public to remain cautious around the Lower Ormsgill Reservoir.
The need for caution comes after reports of blue green algae were made to the Environment Agency. This was not confirmed due to the testing lab being closed since the lockdown. The council warn people not to swim and avoid skin contact with any water. Pets are not to drink the reservoir.
The algae naturally occur in inland waters such as rivers, streams and lakes, and may look green, blue green.
