Coronation Hall has long been a hub of activity for the big events that are held in Ulverston and that includes hosting the town's annual Gardeners' Society Show.
In 1992, The Mail was there for when some huge onions were the talk of attendees, with the largest of the prize-winning exhibits weighing around the same as a newborn baby, 7lb 4oz.
Several hundred pass through the Hall's doors as the skills of local gardeners were celebrated.
Show secretary John Bell was impressed with the standard of entries, saying: "Everybody wants to show the quality of stuff they produce and the results are absolutely magnificent."
Ulverston's Fred Barnes was one of the show's big winners, as he came out on top in six different categories.
In 1995, a long dry summer didn't stop the gardeners producing a colourful display, flowers vegetables and floral arrangements gave a seasonal touch to the hall in the middle of the charter fortnight.
The trophies that year were donated by Ulverston-based businesses, such as Glaxo, Hartleys Brewery and Ashley and Rock, and were presented by the mayor of the town, Barbara Crellin.
As well as the usual horticultural awards, there were home produce classes for cakes, jams, wines and beers, and classes for photographers.
