A YOGA and pilates business is preparing to reopen its doors with a renewed vision.

Lightbird Yoga, Barrow's only dedicated Yoga & Pilates studio moved all its classes online during the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic.

During lockdown, Lightbird Yoga studio offered free meditation sessions, taught yoga and pilates as well as hosting guest teachers and students from Ireland and the Netherlands via Zoom.

Proprietor Rachel Lightbird said: "The response was amazing.

"We ended up connecting more and more with organisations across the Peninsula.

"The studio delivered classes to the staff and students at Furness College, Well Community members, and Pennington Guides. We ran a socially-distanced trip to the stone circle at Birkrigg Common for the Solstice, went on cherry-picking trips and organised kombucha swaps. We also had some fab classes at the beautiful Barrow Park."

The studio will reopen on August 1 with classes of up to seven students and online participants. It will offer a whole range of classes, from group to private lessons, children to adults, limited mobility through to advanced.
