THIS Ulverston based business has been recognised for going beyond the port of call for a cleaning firm offering care services as well.

My Kind of Clean was founded in April 2018, born from a true desire to help the elderly and vulnerable, and they are proud to offer their services and support for all, including commercial clients in Barrow, Dalton, Ulverston, and the South Lakes.

'The Cleaners in Cath Kidston' specialise in cleaning and home help for the elderly in addition to their commercial contracts for big businesses in the area.

Upon furloughing all staff just before lock down to protect staff and clients, they ensured elderly and vulnerable clients still had an emergency contact if needed by keeping on her work phone.

Director, Emma-lea Dalton, said: “Most of the people we had on our books are back now and we have even taken on new clients since the lockdown.

“I think they feel safer coming to us because we have strict measures in place to keep them and our staff safe during this time.

“It has been nice to be back open again but it has been very busy.

“We have had four new starters that need training up as we still have members of staff furloughed because they are shielding, but we need a full team for the work we have on.

“We now have 24 members of staff in total to deal with this work.

“It is lovely to receive this award and is nice to be recognised as we do a lot to help the community around us.

“We have our sister business that has been launched as well called Bee Kind Cleaning Co, which focuses on products like our candle range and wax melts.

“We do have a few more exciting things coming up in the future as well.

“I would like to extend my thanks to my supervisors Kelly Hodgson, Jane Hodgson, and Karen Baxter, as well as the rest of my staff for their support. Obviously a thank you goes out to our clients as well who have been patient with the new way of doing things.”

The 29-year-old mother of two has been nominated for the young entrepreneur of the year awards as part of the Enterprise Vision Awards. My Kind of Clean has also been nominated for small business of the year.

Kelly Hodgson, who nominated the business for this award, said: “As a company Emma always ensures we go above and beyond for our clients and community.

“I honestly feel proud to be part of the team Emma has built at My Kind of Clean and I know all the other Ladies that work on the team feel the same way.”
