Lee Nicoll said: "I had my first job in M&S Barrow, it's so sad it's closing by far the best ready meals, the carbonara is divine. I could still grab one on my commute home but for those relying on public transport it's a long bus journey from Barrow."

Jacqueline Bailey said: "No disrespect to other supermarkets in the town but M&S in Barrow especially during the pandemic have been brilliant."

Tony Moon said: "I am led to believe that M&S have never owned the building, always rented it. You can see that the infrastructure is breaking down by the visible patched up wiring and temporary emergency lighting being installed. So it is obviously not cost effective to keep patching up the building."

Sandra Kemsley said: "I don't know why they couldn't have kept Barrow store as a food hall. It will be missed."

Greg Smith said: "Why go to Ulverston for M&S? Booths is 100 per cent better for food."
