Neil Probert said:"It was inevitable that Ian Evatt would receive an offer from a bigger club. Let’s hope that the board can find a suitable replacement with similar organizational skills and hunger for success as Ian. Keeping the existing squad of players is now a priority.”

El Nino9 said: “Leaves a bitter taste the way it’s been done, but regardless of Evatt leaving we are in league 2, the money coming in will make a huge difference, and we have top players signed to big contracts, and no pressure in expectations for next season all reasons to be optimistic. Bolton albeit a big club for the division are under a transfer embargo and under huge financial constraints but will still be expected to gain promotion first time, it’s a tough league and Evatt could easily be out on his ear by Xmas, so much more to gain by staying at Barrow (especially only being 38) but good luck to him. Bring in another young, hungry and bold replacement, no Jim Bentley-esque gaffer.”
