COURT: South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court at Barrow.
A MAN is due to appear in court after being charged with assault.
John Joseph Atkinson is accused of assaulting Lorna Warren in Askam and will appear at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
The 40-year-old, whose address has been given as Northumberland prison, is said to have committed the offence on June 5 2019.
In addition he has been charged with intimidating a witness.
Mr Atkinson was charged was due to appear over a charge of attempted murder, but this has been discontinued according to Crown Prosecution Service.
