A BARROVIAN music club is amongst several Cumbrian arts and culture organisations that have benefitted from a £560,015 funding scheme to help them through the pandemic.
Barrow Underground Music Society has received a proportion of The Arts Council’s Emergency Response Package, which was designed to help alleviate the immediate pressures faced by artists, creative practitioners, arts organisations, museums, and libraries over the summer – supporting them as they continue to serve their communities during the crisis and affording them the time to stabilise and plan for the future.
68 individuals and independent organisations across Cumbria have received a share of the funding, including Ravenglass Railway Museum Trust and The Fairly Famous Family in Ambleside
Catherine Mitchell, Director, North, Arts Council England, said: “Artists and organisations from across Cumbria create and produce fantastic cultural work which connects communities and contributes to the vibrant cultural sector in the North West.
"I’m pleased that we have been able to support many of them through our Emergency Response Fund."
