1. No. Sixty Two, Barrow.

Opened on Scott Street by Katie Park and Michelle Chapman in September 2010, No. Sixty Two offers cuts and colours for both men and women, as well waxing and nail services. Ann Sedgwick has proven to be a real favourite with customers.

2. Lush Avenue Hair & Beauty, Barrow.

Located not far away from Barrow Park on Stafford Street. People can’t wait to have their hair styled by sisters Helen and Sarah Townson again once the lockdown is over.

3. The Market Salon, Barrow.

Pam Gibson has been described as ‘simply the best’ by our readers who have visited this salon at Barrow Market, which is very popular on the four days a week it is open under normal circumstances.

4. Zest Hair and Beauty, Barrow.

One of the newer Salons on our list, Zest opened on Bowness Road in November 2017. Ebony Munro is sure to be in demand again soon at a venue that offers all aspects of hair and beauty treatments that includes skincare service.

5. Blades, Barrow.

It’s back to the town centre for this unisex hair salon on Crellin Street, with Lisa Baron very popular amongst the female clientele. Convenient for a quick cut, as there’s a car park next door and appointments are not always necessary.

6. Cutting Edge, Dalton.

Our first visit outside of Barrow takes to the heart of Dalton and Market Street. Jayne Harris has been given a special shout-out by customers at a salon noted for its friendly atmosphere, which also offers a range of beauty services.

7. Hair and Nailport, Ulverston.

Another salon right at the heart of its community, Hair and Nailport on Market Street has been serving residents in Ulverston for over 20 years and they cannot wait to go back. Sue McDaid will have busy schedule again before long, if our readers’ responses are anything to go by.

8. Fine Fellas Lounge, Barrow.

It’s back to Crellin Street for the newest venue on our list, which has made a big impression since opening in October last year. The return of Premier League football this month will be an added bonus for its customers, as sport is shown on its television. They’re even offered a drink while they wait, with an alcoholic option coming in on weekends. Stephanie Barnes made herself a popular choice in four months before lockdown.

9. Luxe, Ulverston.

A small but luxurious salon on Cavendish Street, Luxe’s friendliness and range of hairdressing services has made well-sought amongst the folks of Ulverston, with Sally Dixon expected to have a long list of clients when it reopens.

10. The Mane Man, Barrow.

A second venue inside Barrow Market rounds off our list, with it targeting a reopening on July 4.
