QUESTIONS have been posed as to when the potential return date of the Windermere Car Ferry service might be.
The ferry has been out of service since March, owing to a staffing shortage and other problems brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic.
One South Lakes businessman told The Gazette: "It is not just for tourists and as you know it is also used when needed by emergency services and business users.
"Our annual passes are currently useless and worthless...[my] sole income relies on the ferry being operational."
He added: "With the relaxation of many travel restrictions and the introduction of social distancing measures in many aspects of our lives, the ferry should be able to operate in some way, be it in a more nuanced fashion."
A spokesman for the county council said an update was expected in the coming days.
