AN ULVERSTON hospice is looking to reopen volunteer ran services as the coronavirus lockdown begins to ease.

St Mary's Hospice are looking for volunteers to join their existing force as they plan to reopen shops and other services.

A spokesperson for St Mary's Hospice said: "At the start of the pandemic all our hospice volunteers were stood down, and we know they have been missing their weekly volunteer fix.

"We are now looking, optimistically, to slowly start to reopen areas such as shops and get our volunteers involved once again there and in other areas, but only when we feel it is safe to do so.

"We value every volunteer we have, they are an integral part of the St Mary’s team and without so many we couldn’t do as much. We will need lots of help and support in the coming months so if you have been inspired in recent months come and join us."
