THE team behind an internationally-recognised awards programme is bringing a taste of the world to Cumbria.

Dalemain, which announced the winners for this year’s Marmalade Awards in March, is offering a selection of gold award-winning marmalades.

They have launched a selection of the world’s finest marmalades on their website, with flavours from across the globe. Flavours include Californian producer Ledera Patisserie’s Meyer lemon, pineapple and vanilla bean marmalade, alongside their Meyer lemon and eucalyptus preserve, which contains whole eucalyptus leaves.

For those who think marmalade is for more than just breakfast, Czech producer Kreativni Kulinarstvi has created a lemon, lemongrass and basil preserve that goes fantastically with both fish and cheese, while the Taiwanese offering of orange blossom, kumquat and yellow lemon has been compared to the finest of dessert wines.

Other international flavours include Czech Becherovka and Japanese Yuzu and Sancho Pepper.

UK producers include the double gold award-winning lemon and lime marmalade from Perfectly Preserved, and there are lots of regional gems such as Radnor Preserves’ smoky Bourbon marmalade from Wales.

The Marmalade Awards, held at Dalemain Mansion in Dalemain near Penrith, saw more than 40 countries sending jars for the 2020 competition.

Any gold-winning marmalade producers who would like to sell their marmalades via the Dalemain website should email marmalade@dalemain.com.
