THERE was great excitement after a third feathery arrival was welcomed by a nature reserve yesterday.
This is the seventh year running that a pair of breeding ospreys - Blue 35 and White YW – have successfully hatched a brood at the Foulshaw Moss Nature Reserve near Witherslack.
The incredible sight was captured on the reserve’s live webcam, where the public can keep up to date on the birds’ progress.
Foulshaw have named the trio after the old Westmorland and Cumberland shepherds counting system; Yan, Tan and Tethera.
Tethera’s arrival has been eagerly awaited for some days.
Yan hatched on May 24 and Tan on May 26.
Paul Waterhouse, Reserves Officer for Cumbria Wildlife Trust, said: “All three seem to be thriving and feeding well.
"We hope that all three chicks will continue to do well.
