A WOMAN accused of perverting the course of justice was refused bail today.

Preston Crown Court decided to reject an application to grant bail on behalf of Eleanor Williams, 19.

Miss Williams, of Teasdale Road in Barrow, has been charged with seven counts of perverting the course of justice relating to seven allegations made between 2017 and 2020.

She was previously remanded in custody at South Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on May 21 after being arrested on May 20.

She will appear again at Preston Crown Court on June 19 to enter a plea.

The charges relate to allegations made against five men.

Sexual assault claims cause wide spread anger on social media.

Between October 2017 and January 2018 Miss Williams is accused of making false allegations to the police and falsifying evidence about an allegation of rape and sexual assault which had a tendency to pervert the course of public justice.

Between March 2019 and October 2019 she is accused of making false allegations to the police and falsifying evidence about an allegation of rape which had a tendency to pervert the course of public justice.

Between May 2019 and October 2019 she is accused of two counts of making false allegations to the police and falsifying evidence about an allegation of rape which had a tendency to pervert the course of public justice.

Between June 2019 and July 2019 she is accused of two counts of making false allegations to the police and falsifying evidence about an allegation of rape and sexual assault which had a tendency to pervert the course of public justice.
