North Cumbrian hospitals have reported no Covid-19 deaths for over a week, new figures show.

According to the latest batch of statistics released by NHS England, North Cumbria Integrated Care Foundation Trust, which runs Carlisle's Cumberland Infirmary and West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven, yesterday reported no further fatalities - they reported no fatalities for over a week either.

In the south of the county, the NHS trust which runs Furness General Hospital, as well as a hospital in Lancashire also reported no further deaths confirmed over night.

The North East based NHS trust which runs Carlisle's Carleton Clinic psychiatric unit has reported no new coronavirus-related deaths for a number of days.

It can take some time to confirm the figures and these are the latest released by NHS England.

A further 185 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 26,234.
