A NEW business owner says she is ‘not worried’ about opening a beauty clinic during the coronavirus pandemic.

Melody Forrest said she was ‘optimistic’ for the future of her new Harmony Rejuvenation centre in Ulverston.

The clinic on Potter’s Court will offer top-of-the-range beauty treatments for customers wanting to revitalise their skin.

“Because I am established already, I am not too worried about building up a clientele,”said Melody, 43, who has been working in dermatology for the past three years.

“If I was a brand new business trying to establish myself in a new town during lockdown, it would be a worrying time.

“But I am optimistic about opening up.”

Although Mrs Forrest is currently unable to open up to the public, she is offering a click-and-collect service for those wishing to purchase their skin favourites during lockdown.

Harmony Rejuvenation is scheduled to open its doors on July 4 pending government guidelines. The clinic will offer a range of skin treatments including non-surgical face lifts, skin peels, microdermabrasion, jaw tightening and more.

After offering these treatments out of her home in Millom, Mrs Forrest decided to branch out her business in the heart of Ulverston.

“My client base was growing and it just seemed the next natural step to open up a shop,” she said. “Going into a new town is always quite daunting but I have got a great client base who have been really supportive.”

In a bid to continue her work during lockdown, Mrs Forrest has been offering virtual one-to-one appointments for those struggling with problematic skin.

“People are really grateful I have started offering online appointments for those struggling with their skin,” she said.

“It is different because I can’t touch the skin and assess it that way.

“But I am still able to have an in-depth consultation about their skin history and look at it via the camera.

"We are starting click-and-collect in Ulverston."
