Women’s Community Matters has said is still here to support women who are victims of abuse .

The Women’s Community Matters women’s centre, in Abbey Road, Barrow, is open for business despite the obvious restrictions in place due to coronavirus.

Rebecca Robson, Senior Officer at the centre said: “Despite the obvious restrictions due to coronavirus our message is simple, we are still here to help, and we believe you.”

“We know there has been a rise in reports of abuse nationally and we would urge any woman who has been, or still is, a victim of any kind of abuse or exploitation to contact us.”

Although the centre is not able to receive visitors at present, they are still contactable by telephone and email.
