A BEAUTY salon owner is appealing for donations of hand cream to give to Furness General Hospital workers - as well as paramedics and district nurses.
Rachel Williamson, of Beautique on Walney, has collected more than 1,000 bottles so far and continues to look for more donations from the public.
“I am more than happy to collect the hand cream from people," she said.
"I’m sure lots of people have the odd unused tub at home.
“It is a real shame for the nurses as they are washing their hands so much they are getting acute dermatitis.
“I just thought what could I do to help when one of my nurse friends told me they were in agony, so I thought that is what I can do.”
You can make hand cream donations by ringing the salon on 01229 343533or dropping them off at the Dartmouth Street salon.
