PLANS have been approved to erect a 980 square metre building for storage and bailing of waste associated with the recycling transfer centre.

The plans are to replace an existing cattle shed and repurpose it as a storage and baling facility for the waste recycle centre at Sinkfall Farm Waste Transfer Station on Rakesmoor Lane Barrow-in-Furness.

This was required due to the changes of legislation in relation to the separation distance between different materials such as plastic and card.

Currently this building is used to store and for the baling of paper, aluminium, and plastic.

The idea behind the development is to allow te site to comply with new legislation and fire safety requirements.

There has been no issue flagged up by the highways team at Cumbria County Councils.

There have been no neighbours to bring up any concerns as there is no close designations that would be impacted by development at the site.
