AN AWARD-winning gin distillery has donated its first batch of hand sanitisers to St Mary’s Hospice.
Shed 1 Distillery in Ulverston recently announced it has switched from manufacturing gin to hand gel to help prioritise safety and community needs during the coronavirus outbreak.
For their first batch of hand sanitiser, owners Zoe and Andy Arnold-Bennett, have gifted the supply to St Mary’s Hospice and other vulnerable groups in the area.
The pair said: “We don’t have enough to sell to the general public, at this time, and ingredients are getting harder to obtain.
“However, we are going to do our best to continue to source and produce.”
A St Mary’s spokeswoman said: “Thank you to Andy and Zoe for using your skills and facilities to help so many vulnerable people during this difficult time.”
