CUMBRIA fire and rescue service are asking people to be mindful of where they park.

The current increase in the number of people who are now working from home has resulted in an increase of cars now parked up along the streets and in the housing estates.

This build up of cars could cause problems for emergency services who may not be able to pass through some roads, delaying the time that it takes to attend to an emergency..

Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Please park safely and leave enough room for your emergency services to get through.”

The current government changes do not affect the ability of fire service members to respond to emergency 999 situations.

However, there have been some changes to their day to day activities.

Public access to community fire stations has now been restricted.
