A MAN is in critical condition after sustaining a severe head injury.

Police are now appealing for information to help trace the movements of Andruis Kadzevicius found with an unexplained head injury in Nelson.

They were called around 10.55pm on Wednesday March 25 by hospital staff after a man was admitted with a suspected bleed on the brain.

Earlier in the evening, around 7.50pm, paramedics had been called to an address in Crawford Street he was found unresponsive.

Mr Kadzevicius had suffered a head injury and was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital and later transferred to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

It is believed Mr Kadzevicius had left his property in Crawford Street on Tuesday evening and returned home on Wednesday.

Detectives are appealing for information about how Mr Kadzevicius suffered his injury and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen him between 9.30pm on Tuesday, March 24 and 7pm on Wednesday, March 25.

Det Ch Insp Zoe Russo, of Lancashire Police’s Force Major Investigation Team, said: “At this time we are carrying out enquiries to establish how Andrius Kadzevicius sustained his injury.

“It is known Andrius left his home address at Crawford Street, Nelson, at around 9.30pm on Tuesday and returned home at some point prior to 7pm the following day. I am trying to establish his movements during that time.

“I am appealing to anyone who has any information about his whereabouts during those times or saw Andrius themselves.

"I understand individuals may be reluctant to come forward if they have not taken the current advice regarding staying at home but I would urge those individuals to make contact and provide information.

“The residents around Crawford Street and surrounding area may see detectives carrying out house to house enquiries. Those officers will be carrying identification and will conduct those enquiries safely in line with social distancing advice.”
